Today is day 8. It’s been just over a week since I got my sister’s cells! Over all I’m doing well… the days are long and I’m nauseous and anxious, but things are moving in the right direction. Yesterday I got the frightening news that my liver labs were looking a little abnormal, but today they are looking better. The new thing today is high blood pressure. This is somewhat expected from the anti rejection meds I’m on, but it’s still not fun to see 180/110.

Doing some yoga while getting platelets (I do clean the floor before setting my mat down!)

The kiddos have been enjoying the costume bin today. Mike sent me these to brighten my day.

My mom captured a favorite game I like to call “Get those kids”… although it looks more like a version called “Get Dad”.

Please pray…

  • My anxiety would melt away
  • Mike would feel better quickly- he had a fever yesterday and of course, won’t be visiting me for a while!
  • That I wouldn’t get sick
  • That Erica’s cells would engraft beautifully and quickly, giving me good white blood cells to keep me safe, good platelets and red blood cells!
  • For time to pass quickly

Thank you SO much for all your prayers! God is listening!!!

  6. Hi Heidi! Vicki here! I just got all the updates from the last 10 (?) days. I was « kicked off » messenger for some reason. Anyways, what great news to read you are in the bone marrow process!!! I am so happy that in spite of Covid 19 playing havoc with our country you have been able to move ahead with this.
Your Mom is such a good technical communicator and your blogs are so raw and human. We are with you all the way in prayer, love and hope for your healing. We know this road is hard and painful but you have been such an inspiration to all of us. Stay strong leaning into God all the time even if He « feels » far away He said He would never leave or forsake you.
    Love you Heidi!! ❤️

o you have a mini practice you like to run through or do you do whatever feels good and is needed at a certain time? I just downloaded a new app called Downdog. I set it to “Gentle” for 10 minutes and try to practice a new stretch each day. Xo
